A Brief History

About this Game

30K Thanks! was conceived by a fellow HK patriot who was forced to flee HK, a Taiwanese, and a Canadian. The trio of individuals support the HK Movement and wanted a way to bring the new and ever growing serious situation that has been unfolding while we've been making this game.

A moment of Caution
In reality, we support the peaceful protests but do not support looting or acts violence against either party.  In our game's "Revenge" scenario,  the player and Popo are using non-lethal weapons such as rubber bullets, gas launchers, bricks and other melee weapons. To further these intentions, there is no blood fx. Instead, the hit/impact fx are fireworks and comical explosions of confetti and glitter upon the Popo becoming knocked unconscious.

Backstory or History before the CCP rewrites the narrative.

Hong Kong is a former British colony handed back to China in 1997 with an agreement set; it has its own judiciary and a separate legal system from mainland China. Some of those rights granted include the freedom of assembly and the freedom of speech.

The Chinese Communist Party has gone back on that agreement triggering peaceful protests across HK. The HK government has ignored the voices of the people and continues to allow the HK police to abuse their power, beating and arresting peaceful protesters. The CCP have shamelessly used the name of "law" to act violently. A whole generation of young men and women are arrested, many to never be seen or heard from again. Is this this new norm for Hong Kong? Do we stand to protect our family?

The people who really love Hong Kong have paid in tears, sweat and even their lives for this long struggle. However, those in power still sit idly by and continue to facilitate the CCP affiliated group of uniformed perpetrators hell bent on destroying and suppressing the democratic freedoms granted to the people of Hong Kong.
